What is hypnosis means and Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is the practice of promoting healing / positive development to re-programme patterns of behaviour within our mind to enable us to identifying, challenging and overcome negative thoughts about certain problem, suppressed emotions, phobia and irrational fears.

Hypnosis is not a state of deep sleep; the person is actually in an enhanced state of awareness, concentrating entirely on the hypnotist’s voice. In this state, the conscious mind is suppressed and the subconscious mind is revealed. You will be focusing your attention in a particular idea with a sense of positive expectation to enhance a capacity to respond to suggestion. It can be effective if you are able to use your attention and your imagination to experience a powerful influence over your emotions, thinking and your behaviour.

As the body is released from the conscious control during the relaxed trance-like state of hypnosis, your breathing will become slower and deeper, and your pulse rate will drop as well as the rate of metabolic drops. The same changes occur with the nervous pathways and hormonal channels enable the sensation of pain to become less acute, and the awareness of unpleasant symptoms such as nausea / indigestion to be alleviated. Through the natural state of deep absorption and openness, new emotional response, new behavioural habits with new thoughts can be introduced.

The British Society of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis states that: “In therapy, hypnosis usually involves the person experiencing a sense of deep relaxation with their attention narrowed down, and focused on appropriate suggestions made by the therapist.”
During the sessions you will not be made to do anything you don’t want to, also you will not lose your control during the hypnosis session.
